Turning a passion into a business
Hi there! I am Ashley Hodgen, the founder of Mother Fusion.
My love for crafting and creating didn’t begin until after my youngest child was born, but once I discovered it, I fell head over heels. Arts and crafts quickly became a big part of our family’s life, sparking joy and connection in ways I never expected!
It all truly came together when I purchased a Cricut machine to create most of my wedding decor and stationery. That experience was a game-changer for me—I realized not only how much I loved crafting, but also that I had the potential to turn this passion into something bigger. It planted the seed for what would eventually grow into my business.
My background
I have been in healthcare for over fifteen years, most recently as a Registered Nurse, dedicating myself to bedside care. While I still love nursing, I decided to step away from it as my full-time focus. I just graduated with my Bachelor's in Science of Nursing and currently in a MSN program. My heart was calling me to follow my dream: to build my crafting business and share my creations with others. Nursing is now my part-time gig, while crafting has become my full-time passion.
One of my favorite projects has been creating graphic t-shirts. With the rise of social media, there’s an endless world of creative designs and ideas out there, and I absolutely love helping people bring their visions to life. Whether it’s a design they’ve seen elsewhere, or one they’ve dreamed up themselves, it’s so fulfilling to make something special for them.
From RN to Small Business Owner? YEP!
As I’ve grown in this journey, I’ve mastered techniques like regular iron-on designs and sublimation printing (curious about sublimation? Check out the FAQs tab!). What started as making shirts and custom products for friends, family, and coworkers soon became something much bigger. I realized I could take this passion and turn it into a successful business—and I committed to doing just that!
My Target Customers
While I don’t have a specific target audience, I pride myself on being adaptable. I embrace all kinds of styles, colors, humor, and ideas, connecting with people across all age groups and preferences. Whether it’s trendy, nostalgic, funny, or heartfelt, I love helping people bring their ideas to life in a meaningful way. There are no limits to my creativity!
My ultimate goal is to serve my local community with custom products that bring joy and creativity into their lives. Whether it’s a gift, a personal keepsake, or something just for fun, I’m here to craft something special for you.
